Post Christmas Goodies

Good morning. I hope you are all having a good day so far. Things are returning to normal after the holidays...sigh... The season goes so fast it seems we hardly get to enjoy it and it's gone. We had a very good Christmas with Santa being good to everyone.

The day after Christmas, my girls, parents and I went out in search of bargains. One of our favorite places to go is to Findlay, OH. There are two neat shops there. My favorite is Early American Home. Barb is the owner and she is so friendly and helpful. It is an old home decorated with primitive and colonial items. I think I could spend the whole day in there. The other store is the Homestead. It is a 3 story barn rebuilt on the site. It is decked out also. It has more of a mix of items, but it is still very nice. Both were having awesome sales so here is what I picked up for next year's decorating.

Here is a closer look at some of the things in their new home. The lamp at the bottom was a Christmas gift from DH. We had been through Findlay earlier this month and I picked it out then. I just love it. The Christmas CD above is so good. I just love colonial Christmas music. My DH thinks it sounds like funeral music!! To each his own.

I need to head off and get started for the day. We are having a New Year's Eve party/card club and I need to work on the house. I am finally feeling better so I have a lot of catching up to do. Have a wonderful new year and be safe.

  1. What great bargains! I'm crazy over the candy molds. Have fun at your party, Dawn

  2. Happy New Year Melissa! You sure did get some fun goodies and I too enjoy the Colonial music as well as Celtic....my husband always tells me to play something normal, LOL

    Have fun!

  5. You found some nice things!
It sounds like Ohio has so many great places to shop. I need to make it a goal to check out some of them. Now that we are retired, that would be just the sort of thing we have the time to do now. :)
I hope you didn't get the snow/wind storm we got yesterday. Stay warm and thanks for sharing your adventure with us all!

  6. Great new items! That little snowman is soooo cute! Love the belsnickle too. Wish we had more prim shops around!

  7. I can tell I live in the wrong part of
the country! You got some great stuff there!
I love the Santa molds! Happy New Year!

  8. Melissa,
Looks like you got some great prim goodies. The shops in Findlay sound wonderful. I did a show there a few years ago, but didn't have time to check out any of the shops. Might have to make a another trip there sometime.
    Have a Happy New Year.

  9. Hmmmm... Findlay you say??? That would be a day excusion, but looks well worth it. I've read about some places there must be one in the same.

Great items you found too bad you have to put them away til next year. Though I leave out my Christmas molds all year grouped togehter on a shelf.

  10. Looks like you found some great treasures. I love the santa molds. I picked up a couple of them also. I can't wait to decorate w/them next year. Hope you have a great New Years Party.

  11. Wow girl! You certainly got some really prim and cute things to use for next year. I enjoyed the beautiful pictures of them a lot. Makes me want to go out and shop some more. :) lol

Do you care to share the addresses of the places that you went in Findlay? I am always looking for some new places to go. :) My moto is... "Have prims, will travel!" lol

I know the feeling of just how quickly the Christmas season goes by. It does truly feel like it is here and gone before you know it. Have a great party! Make sure you share some pictures with all of us. You know how we just love pictures. :)

    Happy New Year!

    Hugs and blessings,
