Swap Goodies,Ebay Listing, & Redos

Hello, everyone!! Yes, I'm still here and glad to be back posting. I have just been busy with normal things around the house. I was thinking once the kids were back in school last week, I would have more time to post. While doing some chores around the house, which are what the kids do in the summer to save me some time, it hit me!!! Because I didn't have my slave labor (they do get paid so don't feel too sorry for them), I actually had less time to post. Crazy!!

I participated in Char's swap and received my goodies last week. Mine came from Cindy at Our Primitive Heart She sent me so much stuff and it was all wrapped up and smelled great. I am finding homes for everything as I type!! Thanks for your generous gifts. I love them.

I have been working on a few things as well. I finished this Halloween pillow from Primitive Stitchin' by Shelly Auen. I just love her designs and so wish I could see really well to put them on osnaburg as she does. I have to go a little bigger count. Getting old is great, huh!! Anyway, I listed the pillow on eBay if anyone is interested. I found my acorns at Kohl's over the weekend. After seeing them, my son brought me three real ones and told me I should have just picked them up back at the woods. That thought had crossed my mind, but I didn't know if real ones would keep very well. I may have to try it.

Another project I just finished this morning was a set of shaker boxes I bought LAST summer. They had fall scenes on them and the original prices on each also. They would have cost over $50 originally. (Ugly and all!!) I bought them for $3 and love how they turned out. I think one is missing so I had to separate the set. I will be on the lookout for the missing size so I can have the set together. I have them in our bedroom.

I am also getting the little cupboard finished that I picked up a few weeks ago. I will post it next time. One last thing. I see so many of you have email gadgets with links to your email on your blogs. I have tried to do this but can't figure out how. If anyone could give me some advice, I would love it. I would like to start a selling blog also so I need to know how to add email. Also, those with selling blogs, do you just send invoices through pay pal when someone makes a purchase? Thanks for any info you can send along. You guys are great.

Have a great day and take care.

She Won!!!

Good evening everyone. I just was so excited that I had to share that my DD, Emiy, won the Jr. Miss Pageant tonight. Yeah!! She was in it with three of her friends. She also won the Miss Congeniality title as well. This is the first time they held the Jr. Miss contest so she is the first winner. She is so happy and we are so proud. Thanks for letting me brag a bit!!!

Here she is with DD, Alex, and our niece, Sarah.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Cinnamon Wax Corn Cob Bowl Fillers

Hi, fellow bloggers. This has been a crazy week for me. It seems like the last two weeks before school starts are busier than the rest. My oldest has band camp, the middle one has pageant practice, and the youngest has football. All different times, of course. That has left little time to accomplish much crafting.

I made some cinnamon wax corn cob bowl fillers yesterday. I have them listed on eBay right now and am offering free shipping. Please take time to check them out. I hope to get a few more fall things added. We'll see.

I went on the US 127 Garage Sales last week for a little distance. I went Friday, but should have gone on Thursday. There weren't many goodies so I guess they were all taken. Good news for my wallet, bad news for me!!! I did pick up a few things I picked up. I really like the apple butter stirrer. I have been looking for one and love the shorter handle. It was only $6.

I also picked up a little bookshelf that needed some care. I had to strip and repaint it. It is upstairs but I haven't had time to get it decorated yet. When I do, I will post a before and after.

Well, gotta run and pick up the girls. I mentioned that DD number 2 has had pageant practice. Our town is having a pageant this weekend as part of its birthday celebration. She is in the Jr. Miss West Unity division. They have someone come in and do their makeup and all. What fun that would be. I will post pictures next week. Take care.

New Stitchery and Thrift Store Finds

Good afternoon. I just finished up a stitchery and wanted to share it with you. It is a freebie from Primitive Blessings. It went very quickly and I had a frame in the attic that I painted black and distressed. I have it on a shelf in our bathroom, but I may hang it instead. I'm afraid it might get knocked off the shelf.

I also had a good day at the TS yesterday. I found 5 frames, a spoon rack and a little wall shelf/cubby. The frames were more than I usually pay, but they look like barn siding so they will have a neat texture when I paint over them. I was glad to find a spoon rack, but I wish it would have had a little shelf on the bottom for goodies!! The tin pot in the picture is a hot pot. I wanted to use it to melt wax because the one I have is so deep and wide that it takes so much wax to dip a candle. I never thought though the hot pot gets too hot too quickly. I fixed that little dilemma this morning. I took off the plastic bottom piece and used wire cutters to remove all of the heating elements on the bottom. Now it will sit down in my old crock pot to melt and it won't take a ton of wax to complete a project. So proud of myself for thinking of that. I am adding the other goodies to my stash and hopefully once the kids are back in school, I can start some makeovers.

I also canned some banana peppers today. I only put out 2 plants, but holy cow, do I have peppers coming out of my ears. I thought I would give canning a try. I only did 5 pints so if they don't turn out, it's no big deal. They don't look like the ones I buy in the store though.

Well, that's all for now. We have family pictures tonight I need to start getting ready for. They are outside so that makes it a bit easier. Hair doesn't have to be too perfect cuz the wind is just going to blow it around anyway.

Remember you have until midnight tonight to enter my giveaway. You must be a follower and leave a comment on this or one of the last two posts. I will draw tomorow morning. Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great evening.

Just a Reminder...

Good afternoon. Just a quick reminder that the deadline for my giveaway is Tuesday night. You still have time to enter. You must be a follower and leave a comment on the last post or this one.

We just got back from a couple of days in Columbus. We went to Zoombezi Bay Water park which is part of the Columbus Zoo. The weather was great~~~Usually when I plan something for outdoors, it rains. We walked around the OSU campus some (GO BUCKS!!) and did some shopping at Easton Mall. The kids couldn't believe how big that mall is. I went to a country store as well. I guess I am becoming much more primitive than I thought because everything was just too perfect looking. I did get a little wooden sign with the letter M on it. That is all I found. I really wanted to stop at another more primitve store in Findlay on the way home, but we were there too early. It didn't open until noon. I hate when that happens. Maybe next time. We had a good time, but everyone is glad to be home and ready to sleep in their own beds.

Until next time, take care and be sure to sign up!! I will draw Wednesday morning. Have a great Sunday evening.
