Good morning everyone. I hope you are waking up to a beautiful day. It is warm and very muggy here. We fired up the old AC yesterday. I don't like the windows all closed up in the summer but when it is this muggy, something must be done.
I was cleaning in the attic yesterday. Trying to organize my TS and GS finds and straightening up everything else. I wanted to share with you the best garage sale find that I have ever come across.
I will set the scene. It was a couple of years ago when I was just starting to go to a few garage sales here and there.(Pre-addiction days.) I was just out doing some other errands when I saw a little sign pointing toward one. I followed it quite a while. Don't you just hate those signs that don't tell you how far or the ones no one takes down!!! Anyway, I finally found the place. Walking up to it, I just saw a lot of toys and kids clothes and figured there wouldn't be much else. I went further into the garage and there it was with a make offer sign. I couldn't believe it. I think I offered $40 and she took it right away. Darn, I should have started lower!!!! I paid quickly and got it loaded in the suburban before she changed her mind. Well, are you ready to see it?
It's a primitive cradle!!!
Isn't it so neat!!! I love the color especially. I have no idea how old it is or anything else about it. I would love to hear the story behind the chunks that were cut out of the end. I really don't have a place for it in the house right now so that is why it is residing in the attic. One of these days, I will move it in.
That got me thinking about the best garage sale item you have ever come across. I would love to hear your stories!! If you have time, post pictures on your blog. I'm sure others would love to see them as well.
Gotta run for now. I'm off to mix up some homemade ice cream for DH. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Melissa~That is a great find!
ReplyDeleteSo Prim and Perfect!!!
I love garage saling and thrifting...each item that you perchase has a story behind it. And for some reason you can always remember where you purchased the item...the weather that day...and the circumstances surrounding it. It is the ultimate memory jogger!
Have a great weekend!
I haven't come across my "perfect" garage sale item (or TS or GW either) YET...but I'm still shopping...LOL
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a great find. You'd better get that thing outta the attic and show us what you're going to do with it! LOL! I've been yard saling it for over 20 years! I love the excitement of finding the perfect piece at a great bargain! Makes it hard to shop at the full price stores! Have a great week! ~~Annie
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a super garage sale deal! Hmm..I'd have to think about it. I did get a long shelf, a barrel that I use as a table on my pool deck...each for 10 cents! I thought that was a pretty good deal!
